The Pinwheel Palooza Children’s Film Festival is a one-day festival featuring short films by kids for kids presented by the Friends of the Salt Lake County Children’s Justice Center. It inspires creativity through filmmaking and encourages youth to use their imagination with an opportunity be seen on the big screen.
The pinwheel is a whimsical object that changes direction with the wind. It reminds us that those who have been through trauma, like a pinwheel, can stop, pivot, and change their course in life. This is a simple and powerful message.
Your participation in the Pinwheel Palooza Children’s Film Festival will support the Friends of the Salt Lake County Children’s Justice Center’s mission to empower child victims and their families to transform trauma into resilience by supporting the Salt Lake County Children’s Justice Center through program support funds and awareness.
Kids ages 5-18 are invited to submit their short films no less than 5-minutes and no more than 10 minutes. Any genre is accepted. You will need to include a pinwheel in your story line or use the pinwheel as a prop in your short film.
